About Us

Innovation Pathways for Africa Frontiers (IPAF) is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Nairobi, Kenya, working to close the gap in access to lifesaving medicines and medical technologies across Africa. We are committed to transforming healthcare delivery systems through innovative, evidence-based, and locally driven solutions.

Founded with a vision of “Africa with equitable access to healthy living,” IPAF believes that every life matters — and that timely access to essential health services like medical oxygen and safe blood should not be a privilege, but a right.

Who we are

We are a team of passionate changemakers, researchers, public health experts, engineers, and local partners driven by the urgent need to tackle Africa’s healthcare challenges. We collaborate with local, national, and regional governments, development partners, and communities to design and implement systems that are sustainable, scalable, and people-centered.

Our Vision

Africa with equitable access to healthy living — where no one is left behind due to preventable health barriers.

Our Mission

To improve timely access to lifesaving medicines and medical technologies.

Our Commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

We are proud to be part of the broader global community committed to improving access to lifesaving medicines and medical technologies. Through our work, we strive to create meaningful change and advance the SDGs across multiple sectors.

Our mission aligns closely with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals — a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure health and prosperity for all. By addressing key health challenges, fostering innovation, and building resilient systems, we contribute to a more equitable and sustainable future.

” Our approach to work is deliberate and primarily focuses on medical oxygen and blood, as no doctor, nurse, or hospital specialist can prescribe these two lifesaving medicines to patients in need for purchase over the counter. Their availability and accessibility are critical to reducing preventable deaths”
